It’s almost hard to believe that 15 years have passed since the September 11 attacks.
9/11 is to me what the day John F. Kennedy died was to my mother – no matter how much time passes I can remember exactly what I was doing the morning the twin towers were struck.
I was a senior in college, my final semester at Michigan State. I was getting ready to go to my job on campus, sitting on the couch putting my make-up on when I heard the news about the first explosion on the television. Like most of America I was glued to the TV when we all witnessed the second plane crash into the World Trade Center live on the news, followed by watching the towers fall and the world around us unravel.
Walking through campus was quiet and everything seemed hazy that day. Strangers became friends, in tragedy we bonded and grew stronger and promised to never forget.
